ACN Video Phone
What is required to use a Video Phone? You need a broadband Internet connection with a minimum available speed of 150 to 384 Kbps. Yes, if you intend to have a computer or other devices sharing the broadband connection with the Video Phone. How do I install the Video Phone? If your broadband Internet connection is shared by multiple devices, you need to install a router. Please follow the router manufacturer’s instructions to install the router. Once you have the router installed, please use the instructions provided with the Video Phone to install the Video Phone. You may skip installing the router if you do not intend to attach other devices besides the Video Phone to your broadband connection. For complete, step-by-step instructions, please refer to the Quick Installation Guide. Can I connect more than one Video Phone on the same account? Unlike regular phones, you cannot connect more than one Video Phone to the same telephone number. However, you can have multiple Video Phones at the same location, each having a separate number, and all those numbers can be tied into the same account. You can purchase ACN Video Links that allow you to move your video phone from one room to another and add a cordless base station with extensions so you can have phone service in other rooms. Can I have an ACN Video Phone and ACN Digital Phone Service on the same account? Yes. You can have all combinations of services on the same account. However, they will have different phone numbers. What about calls to people who do not have a Video Phone? Your Video Phone works like a regular phone while calling other telephones, mobile phones and phones with Digital Phone Service. Therefore you will not have difficulty making and receiving calls to other phones that are not Video Phones. How about calls to other Video Phones? Video Phones available in the market use various technologies. ACN uses the latest technology in most of its phones. Currently you can make and receive video calls to other users who . are also subscribed to ACN Digital Phone Service. Can I surf the Internet using my computer while making a video call? Yes, but for the best video quality, you may wish to not use your internet while talking on the phone. Do I get charged additional rates for a video call? No, you will not incur additional charges for making or receiving a video call. If I am currently an ACN Home Digital Phone Service customer with a phone adapter, can I upgrade to a Video Phone? Current ACN customers can upgrade to a new ACN IRIS 3000™ Videophone and keep their existing phone number. No early termination fee will be assessed with a new two-year term. If I already own a video phone, can I sign up for ACN Digital Phone Service? Yes, all you need to do is sign up for the ACN Digital Phone Service Home Unlimited plan. A primary account with a two-year agreement is required. |
